Benjamin Moore and Behr’s new paint colours for 2023 and tranquil new palettes from Farrow & Ball and Valspar.
After two years of restrictions that confined people to one place, many realize that their homes should be a source of tranquillity and an outlet for creativity. These four companies were quick to deliver—launching new paint colours for 2023 designed to bring a sense of calm and comfort.
BENJAMIN MOORE
Vibrant and unapologetic, Benjamin Moore’s 2023 colour of the year, Raspberry Blush, makes a statement in any room. Whether on an accent wall or an arched doorway, this red-orange hue speaks perfectly to the “dynamic role colour plays in self-expression.”Alongside other standouts like Tofino Sunset and Savannah Green, it’s one of eight colours introduced in Benjamin Moore’s Colour Trends 2023 palette inspired by the boldness of modern art.
BEHR
Perfectly balancing versatility and simplicity, Behr’s 2023 colour of the year, Blank Canvas, is a subtle yet warm white that departs from the vibrancy of 2022’s paint trends. This go-to hue can be paired with bright accents or neutrals to create a timeless, refreshed mood. Erika Woelfel, Vice President of Colour and Creative Services at Behr Paint Company, emphasizes the colour’s transformative ability. “Blank Canvas effortlessly offers a clean and inviting blank slate that allows individuality and creativity to flow freely.”
VALSPAR
“Comfortable, joyous and serene.” Valspar is another company embracing rejuvenation as its theme for 2023. From midnight blues to soft violets, their collection of 12 new hues seeks inspiration from the little things that make each day enjoyable. Colour marketing manager Sue Kim draws attention to nature as a source of inspiration when discussing Green Trellis, one of two soothing greens featured in the collection. “Tapping into the calming tones of nature, this hazy green brings the calm and liveliness we seek from the outdoors.”
FARROW & BALL

With joyful names like Bamboozle, Whirlybird and Hopper Head, these delicate pinks, flame-reds and pale greens immediately bring any space to life.
