Our Favourites from Maison Corbeil’s Anniversary Showcase
The retailer celebrated fifty years with a retrospective on its history of iconic design
Pioneers since 1973, Maison Corbeil founders Colette and Raymond Corbeil championed the expansion of contemporary and modern furniture in Canada as one of the country’s first outlets to offer cult-favourite European brands such as Ligne Roset, Cattelan Italia and Ethnicraft. Along with MUST and Jardin de Ville, Maison Corbeil is one of three hallmark brands under the leadership of parent company Home Société Group. And to commemorate its golden anniversary, the Quebec-based furniture retailer showcased fifty years of exceptional designs with a retrospective spotlighting the most iconic pieces within its collection.
While there is an infinite list of recognizable designs that have become synonymous with the retailer over the year, a select few top our list among the most memorable and timeless.
Among its most beloved: a reissue of the iconic Peter Maly bed by Ligne Roset. this version strips away the superfluous to arrive at the essential: a place to relax that adapts to your needs with its removable cushions. A bona fide marvel of design.
A fitting finish to celebrate Maison Corbeil’s golden anniversary, the Componibili table designed by Anna Castelli Ferrieri for Kartell has been furnishing interiors for decades. Its iconic design has been updated in recycled materials, and its modern, rounded structure is available with two or three storage compartments.
Ethnicraft’s Bok chair spotlights artisanal techniques while highlighting the natural beauty of its solid oak.
Who could forget the Togo Sofa. A classic by Ligne Roset, the Michel Ducaroy–designed sofa is the pinnacle of comfort and style. This timeless 2-seater orientation features an ergonomic design with enveloping support, multiple density foam for an ultra-inviting look.
It’s clear that Maison Corbeil’s collections have consistently stood the test of time, seamlessly integrating classic elegance with contemporary flair, ensuring that their furniture designs remain exceptionally stylish and in tune with today’s trends.
“As we turn fifty, we like to remind ourselves that our best-selling products were created many years, even decades, ago,” said Home Société Group co-president Éric Corbeil. “Good design never gets old.” MAISONCORBEIL.COM
