Somewhere Inn Reimagines a Collingwood Century Home as a Bespoke Boutique Hotel
Nestled in a quaint downtown district, Somewhere Inn Collingwood puts a spin on the boutique hotel experience
Blending the charm of the past with the comforts of the present, Joel Greaves and Devoon Valliancourt, the husband and wife duo behind Somewhere Inn, have meticulously crafted a bespoke oasis in Collingwood. Their vision transcends typical hospitality, inviting not only guests but also the local community to kick back and unwind.
When I arrived at Somewhere Inn, the tranquility of the place was palpable. The inn is housed in a beautifully renovated century-old home, previously a boarding house, that has been thoughtfully revitalized. The renovation process was more than just a facelift; it was an homage to the building’s storied past, preserving its character while infusing it with modern comforts. The result is a serene retreat that feels both timeless and contemporary, offering spaces that encourage guests to completely relax and disconnect from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
The lobby bar, the heart of the boutique hotel, was designed by Valliancourt. A bar built by Greaves is perfectly juxtaposed with vintage furniture and artwork to curate a space ideal for both your morning coffee and a late-night glass of wine with friends. Adjacent to the lobby, the outdoor patio serves as a communal gathering spot, where both locals and visitors can mingle and share in the inn’s welcoming ambiance.
The rooms at Somewhere Inn feature moody ensuites, cozy coffee nooks and beautiful natural light, fostering an unplugged experience. A peaceful place to rest your head, you can feel the thought that went into designing the spaces to be both functional and chic.
For guests wanting a reset, the inn also features a sauna and a cold plunge pool, perfect for rejuvenating both body and mind. During my stay, I was fortunate enough to participate in a guided meditation session, which left me feeling completely at peace—a testament to the holistic approach to wellness that the inn promotes.
Somewhere Inn Collingwood has a connection to their community. The owners, friends with many other small businesses in the area, aim to bring everyone together.
Whether you’re indulging in their curated selection of wines and small bites, participating in a meditation session, or exploring the breathtaking natural landscapes of Collingwood, Somewhere Inn goes above and beyond to provide a dreamy, immersive experience both on and off the premises. This is a place where the past and present coexist in perfect harmony, offering an unforgettable retreat for all who visit.
